AHOY THERE!

The Oxford Boat Adventure offers children the opportunity to experience outdoor life around a secluded lake. Soak up the great Oxfordshire outdoors by boat, land on islands, light campfires, share adventures with friends, both old and new, and learn some of the skills that make the countryside come alive.

“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing—absolutely nothing—half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats”. Ratty and Mole’s adventures on and beside the water inspired The Oxford Boat Adventure.

reclaim childhood

Escape from the trappings and distractions of modern life. We replace screen time and social pressures with a chance for imagination to come alive, and for creativity and character to shine. At The Oxford Boat Adventure we embrace the opportunity for real world adventures.

We’ve created a screen free space where more traditional childhood adventures can thrive. There’s nothing old fashioned about technology free activities. This adventure course aims to celebrate and rekindle the great tradition of outdoor childhood fun and wonder.

THE LITTLE EXPLORERS - AGES 4-7

The Little Explorers is specially designed for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and will give them the opportunity to experience some exciting land based adventures across the farm. There are so many little adventures for them to enjoy.

From den building, visiting the island and cooking on fires to treasure hunts, crafts, archery and helping with lambing at Easter, the Little Explorers will get to explore the farm and experience the great outdoors in a safe and nurturing environment. We encourage working together and kindness within our groups and are positive the children will gain a huge amount from their time with us.

THE ADVENTURERS - AGES 7-13

The ‘Adventurers’ are children from school years 3-8 (age 7-13) who we welcome on the farm for a land and water experience like no other. Our experienced and energetic team lead groups of children in a range of adventurous activities. In a carefully managed environment we deliver a set of truly memorable childhood adventures. Each adventure will vary depending on time of year and duration. For details on what will be on offer during a particular course please get in touch.

Examples of Water Adventures include kayaking, canoeing, improvised rafting, dingy rowing and stand up paddle boarding. Land Adventures can include fire lighting, den building, campfire cooking, concealment in the woods, craft, treasure hunts and much much more.
